CS oversees arrangements for Independence Day fete
Elaborate arrangements are being made for the conduct of Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at Golkonda Fort this year.
Hyderabad: Elaborate arrangements are being made for the conduct of Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at Golkonda Fort this year.
Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on Tuesday conducted a review meeting with officials regarding the arrangements being made by the respective departments at the venue. He said before hoisting the tri-colour at the fort at 10 am, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would pay floral tributes to martyrs near the memorial at Parade Grounds.
The protocol department has been asked to make necessary arrangements for illuminating historical places like Charminar, Golkonda Fort, Assembly and Secretariat buildings with colourful lights.
Parking facilities and traffic maintenance all through the venue, barricading and security arrangements were also discussed in detail with the police department.
The Chief Secretary enquired about the Telangana cultural programme and floral decoration at the venue with the department of culture.
Special Chief Secretary to Municipal Administration and Urban Development M G Gopal, Principal Secretary to Roads & Buildings Sunil Sharma and other top officials were also present in the meeting.
