Nayeem used surrendered Naxals for extortions

Hyderabad: Slain gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin had made use of several surrendered Maoists in Telangana to carry out his illegal activities, according to the deceased gangster’s one-time friend Ramakrishna.

While speaking to media on Monday, Ramakrishna, a businessman from Bhongir, shared his bitter experiences with Nayeem for the past 13 years. He said Nayeem used employ some former Maoists with whom he had partnered to commit extortions.

S Rama Krishna studied up to degree at Bhongir along with Nayeem. He said, “Nayeem was very calm during the first and second year of graduation. An incident that troubled his family changed him a lot. He became very aggressive and uncontrollable.”

Nayeem had killed Ramakrishna’s younger brother for being friendly with the former’s rival family members. “My brother S Radha Krishna was killed when he went to in LB Nagar. Four persons attacked him and killed him brutally,” said Rama Krishna.

“Businessmen in Bhongir were forced to pay tax to Nayeem. He killed a classmate M Balraju near Bhongir bus station but the incident went unreported. We request government to help families harassed by Nayeem,” pleaded Rama Krishna.

Meanwhile, the SIT police arrested one Mohammed Sameeruddin (26) of Nalgonda at Vanasthalipuram in connection with Nayeem’s case on Monday.

Sameeruddin was one of the close associates of slain gangster and he was accused number 6 in one of the cases registered against Nayeem at Vanasthalipuram.

The police said Sameeruddin would be produced in the court on Tuesday. Now it emerged that Nayeem used to visit Visakhapatnam regularly. He used to travel by Godavari Express during his visits to Visakhapatnam.
