Hyderabad: Alleging that the TRS government was in deep sleep even as farmers are in distress with no rains in the State, BJP leader Krishna Sagar Rao on Friday demanded the government to release a white paper on what it had done for the farmers in the last six months.

Addressing a press conference here along with Kisan Cell chief G Madhusudhan Reddy, party’s official spokesperson Krishna Sagaar Rao alleged that the TRS government was in a slumber and forgot the farmers completely.

“It appears that only three ministers are running all the departments in the State. Is there is an Agriculture Minister in the State? Who should take care of the farmers? Will the Chief Minister or his family members come to the rescue of farmers,” asked Rao.

The BJP leader further added that though the situation was alarming, the government was yet to form a committee and prepare an action plan and demanded the government to immediately release the remaining two installments of loan waiver scheme.

"There is a practice of preparing action plan for Kharif and Rabi seasons, but so far, there is no indication from the TRS government," he said suggesting the government to form a committee to tackle the drought situation. And if needed, it should include opposition party leaders in the committee and take their suggestions, he said.
