TPCC spokesperson stages dharna near Assembly

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) official spokesperson Regulapati Ramya staged a dharna at Telangana Martyrs’ statue at Gun Park here for some time, demanding that the State government arrest Choppadandi MLA Bodige Shoba immediately.

Ramya on Sunday warned the government that she would take up the dharna in front of the Assembly if the government had failed to arrest Shoba, who was served a non-bailable arrest warrant by the court in the case of attack on Ramya’s function hall in 2013 in Karimnagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramya alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who always said he would not tolerate any person committing mistakes whoever it might be, was adopting dual standards with regard to his party leaders. She claimed that the police were behaving like puppets in the hands of the ruling party and said the police failed to arrest Shobha though she openly participated in all programmes.

The Chief Minister threatened the Opposition parties’ leaders saying that he would keep them in jail, but the same Chief Minister did not keep in jail his own party leaders moving freely even though the court issued non-bailable warrant, she added.
