Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday expressed grief at the demise of former minister M Manik Rao. In a communiqué, the Chief Minister conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family members. He directed the officials to conduct the final rites with complete state honours.

TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed shock and grief on the sudden demise of Manik Rao. The former minister breathed his last on Thursday at the age of 86, due to prolonged illness.

He said that Rao was the senior legislator and worked as minister in the Cabinets of P V Narasimha Rao, Jalagam Vengal Rao and Dr M Channa Reddy. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed the almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul.
