Telangana, AP asked to file sworn affidavits

A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice Anis directed the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to file sworn affidavits on the issue of applicability of local, non-local rules for management quota MBBS seats in private medical colleges.

The bench was dealing with a petition filed by aspirants complaining that the managements of private colleges were allotting seats in B category to those from out of these two States also.
They pointed out that according to Article 371 D of the Constitution of India, only students belonging to the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were entitled to the said seats.
