Warangal/Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday lashed out at the opposition parties accusing them of creating a fuss over the reorganisation of districts.

Speaking to media persons after visiting Bhadrakali temple where he offered a gold crown weighing over 11 kgs costing Rs 3.7 crore to the presiding deity Bhadrakali, Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated his stand that the TRS government took up the reorganization of districts only with the aim of providing better administration in the state.

He said that the government had formed a committee led by the Chief Secretary over a year ago to study the reogranisation of districts. The Chief Minister brushed aside the allegations that the process was undertaken eyeing political gains by the ruling party.

Coming down heavily on the opposition he said all those who had completely ignored the welfare of Telangana were now creating hurdles for the government which was trying to provide better administration.

Referring to the Mahajana Padayatra which the CPI (M) proposes to take up from October 17 to March 12, the Chief Minister said that the party has no moral right to take up such a padayatra. “They are losing every election, communism is no more in Russia and China.

They opposed separate Telangana State. They should rub their nose on the floor and apologise to the people,” he said and asked the people not to allow these yatras in their areas.”

This has invited a strong reaction from the CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram who said such comments were not expected from a person of the stature of Chief Minister. He said the padayatra is not against the Government or the TRS party.

The padayatra is to highlight the attack on Dalits and minorities across the country. The party would also create awareness over the need for taking measures for overall development of SC, ST BC and minorities.

Veerabhadram said this yatra would be flagged off by social activist Dr Prakash Ambedkar. During the yatra the CPM leaders would meet the people and find out about the promises made by the Chief Minister and to what extent they have been implemented.
