Suryapet: The District Collector, K Surendra Mohan, lashed out at the officials for the slow pace of Water Grid works at Imampet.Along with Chief Engineer of Water Grid Krupakar Reddy, the District Collector visited Imampet on Tuesday, where Water Treatment Plant works were going on. As a part of 50 Water Treatment Plants taken up in the State, 95 MLD of Water Treatment Plant was coming up at Imampet in the district. He expressed strong displeasure over the progress of the works of Water Treatment Plant, as pillar laying works of overhead tank were still going on. He told the officials to increase the number of workers and speed up the works.

The Collector asserted that measures would be taken up to supply drinking water to 182 hamlets in the district by December this year under Mission Bhagiratha. ‘I will review the progress of Water Grid works on every Saturday and the works must be done as per the time schedule,’ he said.
Surendra Mohan also directed the officials to complete Mission Bhagiratha works on time and ensure drinking water supply to every house in 863 villages and three Municipalities in the district.

The Engineers of Quality Control were directed to submit a report on the works to the Collector every week. Rs 1.5 crores were released for the intake well works at Paleru. The issue of constructing a bridge at Nayakan Gudem and laying of a pipeline with his Khammam counterpart.Mission Bhagiratha Executive Engineer Madgu Babu, Rural Water Supply Executive Engineer Mohan Reddy and others were also present.
