​Hyderabad: Advisor to the government KV Ramana Chary on Saturday urged the British Parliament member Virendra Sarma to work for strengthening the relations between Britain and Telangana, particularly in industrial and cultural sectors, so that Telangana could progress industrially and economically.
Speaking to Sharma at the Secretariat, Ramana Chary pointed out that Telangana was a baby of two and half years and yet had achieved first rank in Ease of Doing Business under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He wanted the British MP to strive for improving the commercial and cultural relations between Telangana and Britain. He said that there were a lot of positive aspects in Telangana and hoped that relations with Britain would improve in the coming two to three years. He wanted Virendra Sarma to ensure investments in the State.
British MP Sarma said that they had special interest in southern India, particularly in Telangana. He said that he would strive for improvement of relations and for the progress of the State.
Sarma said that he would meet Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and several ministers during his week-long tour of the State. He expressed his view that Telangana had a lot of opportunities for development and resources.
British Parliamentarians' team advisor Uday said that they had arranged UK-Telangana Business Meet to which MPs like Swaraj Paul had been invited. The industrialists were informed about the opportunities in TS. He said that they had prepared an action plan for the development of Telangana.
