Hyderabad: State Information Technology and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao said on Saturday that attracting foreign investments in the aerospace sector was a priority for the State.

Briefing a delegation of UK Parliamentarians on the progress made by the State, spurred by to the government's efforts and the new industrial policy, the Minister said the UK has been in the forefront of training and education in the aerospace sector.

The State government was interested in entering into partnerships with prominent universities in the UK to boost the aerospace sector.

He said the State government would extend its full cooperation to UK universities looking to start an off-campus unit in the State or even an Aerospace University.

He welcomed British industrial investments in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors in the State.

Explaining the investment prospects in the insurances sector in the country, KTR pointed out that banking services in the villages has been showing growth in the country.

Banking and insurance services can be further expanded though the common services centers being established in rural areas.

The Minister and the UK delegation discussed ways to improve trade relations between Telangana State and the United Kingdom. The visiting delegation appreciated the government’s efforts to develop the State.
