SCR employees protest from Dec 12
After a hiatus of about five months South Central Railway employees will go on protest for a week from December 12- 16.
Hyderabad: After a hiatus of about five months South Central Railway employees will go on protest for a week from December 12- 16.
Responding to a call given by the general secretary of National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR), the South Central Railway Employees Sangh (SCRES) would observe a protest week.
The protest is against the non-fulfillment of commitments given by the Government (Group of Ministers) on charter of demands and also in support of NFIR’s resolutions passed in the National Convention held between November 9- 11 at Guwahati, Assam.
SCRE Sangh has decided to launch sustained struggle for realisation of long pending demands pertaining to the Railway Employees for mounting pressure on Government of India and Railway Ministry to implement the agreements reached with the federation.
The demands include 7th CPC Issues/Aberrations, exempt railway employees from New Pension Scheme/National Pension System (NPS) and Restore Liberalised Pension Scheme, running staff issues, improved pay matrix levels to technical supervisors and other supervisory officials.
The Sangh has been vocal against the privatisation of Railways and has been critical of the Bibek Debroy report. The demand is to withdraw FDI and removal of salary calculating ceiling, withdrawal of cashless treatment scheme in emergency, improvement of pay structure and service conditions of track maintainers of Indian Railways.
The issue of filling up vacancies and revision of bonus rates and incentive allowance for staff in workshops/production units would figure prominently in the protest said a senior leader.
Reckoning of total temporary status casual labour service as regular service for pensioner benefits fitment factor of running staff – ensure 14.29% hike at initial pay fixation, recommendations of 7th CPC regarding allowances and employment to wards of railway employees as substitutes are demands that the union has been fighting for.
