The union objected to the journalists being asked to specify their educational qualifications for granting accreditation.

TUWJ-IJU demanded that the State government amend the G.O.No. 239 and give accreditations for all working journalists. Speaking to the media here on Monday, TUWJ leaders K Srinivas Reddy, D Amar, Y Narender Reddy, Virahath Ali and T Koti Reddy said the demand by the medium and small newspapers was justified. They demanded that the State government extend the Arogyasri reimbursement scheme to journalists on a par with the State government employees.
