Hyderabad: Finance Minister E Rajender on Saturday opined that demonetisation launched by the Centre was aimed at implementing constitutional spirit of distributing national wealth among all sections of people.

The Minister was addressing a meeting on ‘Cash Ban – Consumers’ Problems and Solutions’ held to mark National Consumers’ Day at the Secretariat here.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender expressed concern over the fact that 70 years of Independence failed to implement the constitutional spirit and the poor was becoming poorer and the rich getting richer.

“Only a few people have wealth and the larger chunk of the society is suffering from inadequacies,” he remarked.

At this crucial juncture, the governments had to ensure that a great society was built wherein the poor and common man was able to spend money for his health and other regular needs, he added.

“Modi’s not ban decision is to address the problem and our State government appealed him to ensure that the common man is not put to hardships due to demonetisation across the nation.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao met Modi and made some suggestions to overcome the cash ban implications,” Rajender said.
