Hanamkonda: Mahabubabad MP A Seetaram Naik challenged the opposition for an open debate on three years of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) rule to that of Congress and TDP governments in the past.

He said the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been coming up with numerous and innovative development and welfare schemes and programmes for the well being of the public in the State. If the opposition is ready then they should come for a discussion at a place of their choice.

Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Saturday, he said besides making false allegations against TRS, the Congress leaders were knocking the doors of courts to obstruct the ongoing irrigation projects undertaken by the TRS government.

During the past three years, the government had made determined efforts towards the development of the State. But, the Congress leaders, who are desperate for power, are creating trouble and are instigating the farmers with an intention to create unrest.

Though the Congress leaders are aware of the fact that Minimum Support of Price (MSP) for agriculture produces should be decided by Central government they are blaming the TRS government. Congress regime in the past failed to complete irrigation projects to make use of water from river Godavari.

But the party leaders were now talking about farmers’ welfare, he added. GWMC mayor N Narender said about Rs 10 crore was spent on beautification of Warangal city but the Congress leaders were alleging that hundreds of crores was spent for the TRS meeting.

The beautification was done as part of the several ongoing projects but not specifically for the public meeting. The Congress leaders could get information filing RTI petitions, he said. He further added it was the Congress which misused public money and funds. There was no need for the TRS leaders do to so.

KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy said the opposition should check their facts before accusing the ruling party. The Congress and other opposition leaders have lost the trust of public and they must understand that, the TRS leaders said.

On the occasion, the TRS leaders paid respects to government adviser R Vidyasagar Rao who passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Hyderabad. They maintained two minutes silence in honour of the deceased.
