The decision was taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who is of the view that the clean image of the Telangana government is being affected due to corruption.

With IPS officer C V Anand's appointment as the Commissioner of Civil Supplies department, IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar's results in social welfare schools' proving to be a success, the decision to appoint more IPS officers in these departments was taken.
