Late CM YSR remembered
Former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekara Reddy was a great leader, who left a lasting impression on the masses with his welfare measures, said district Congress president N Rajender Reddy.
Hanamkonda: Former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekara Reddy was a great leader, who left a lasting impression on the masses with his welfare measures, said district Congress president N Rajender Reddy.
Rich tributes were paid to late YSR on the occasion of his 68th birth anniversary at a programme held at Congress Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Saturday. City Congress president K Srinivas Rao, TPCC secretary N Srinivas, DCCB chairman J Raghava Reddy, PCC secretary EV Srinivas Rao and others attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajender Reddy said YSR with his padayatra has learnt the plight of common public and after coming to power had initiated several schemes that addressed needs of downtrodden sections.
The public in both AP and Telangana still remember the welfare measures like fee reimbursement, Arogyasri and other programmes launched during YSR regime, he added. Similarly at a programme in Warangal, the city Congress working president Rajanala Srihari and others offered floral tributes to late YSR.
Measures like pavala vaddi scheme, reservations to minorities and others have made YSR a champion of the cause of rural masses.At Mangapet in Jayashanker Bhupalpalli district, former MLA Podem Veeraiah has unveiled a statue of late YSR and the leader would remain in the hearts of the poor for his the pro-poor initiatives.
