​Hyderabad: The case of Poornima Sai who had gone missing for over 40 days and refused to return home after she was found in Mumbai has finally ended on a happy note.

It took almost an entire day for the police, counsellors and a psychiatrist along with officials of the child welfare committee to convince her to return home to her parents.

Poornima, who was stubborn till evening and refused to speak to her parents saying that a calamity would befall on them if she returns home or speaks to them for one year, after day long counselling spoke to her parents for about 30 minutes.

Announcing this, Poornima’s mother said that she would be handed over to them after completing the formalities with the Child Welfare Committee either on Thursday or day after.

She said they also told Poornima that a special pooja to see that no calamity would fall on them would be performed.

The girl was stubborn till Wednesday morning and stated that seeing her parents would bring harm to them. However, she finally spoke with her parents and agreed to go to them as they assured to conduct a special pooja to rectify the problem.
