Hyderabad: The drama surrounding the recent ‘attack’ on former Congress minister M Mukesh Goud's son Vikram Goud took an interesting turn on Wednesday, with police investigations revealing further juicy details.

The police have booked cases under several sections against Vikram and named him as the main conspirator in the case. He will be arrested soon after his discharge from hospital.

Vikram, who is into film making, had been aspiring for a career in politics. He himself plotted the attack six months ago, after which he hired two persons, Nandu and Ahmed Khan, to execute the plan.

The police found that Vikram had removed the CCTV cameras in his house more than a month ago to ensure that the attackers would remain unidentified.

The attackers were also asked to dump the weapon and their clothes into a canal upon executing the plan to bury evidence.

Khan and Nandu followed the plan to the last detail; however, the differing versions of Vikram and his wife changed the course of the case.

The police, upon reconstruction of the sequence of events, said it was a well-scripted act on which Vikram had been working since April.

According to City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, Vikram initially narrated the plan to his friend A Govind Reddy of Pulivendula, in Andhra Pradesh. Govind was reluctant and hence he introduced S Nanda Kumar, resident of Kadiri, Anantapur to Vikram for executing the plan.

A sum of Rs 5 lakh was paid as advance, of which Nanda Kumar, because of his criminal background, got Rs 3.5 lakh. Since Nanda Kumar had not handled any firearm previously, he searched for persons who could help him complete the operation. He met Shaik Ahmed, through a friend Kokanti Babujan.

Nanda briefed the plan to Ahmed, who then agreed to be a part of the episode and to play major role for Rs 5 lakhs. Ahmed contacted the accused Raees Khan of Indore for arranging firearms.

Nanda also sought the help of his friends Babujan and others. They agreed to participate in the task and Nanda promised to pay some amount after completion of the task.

On July 6, Nanda handed over Rs 1.9 lakh to Shaik Ahmed towards purchase of the weapon. The same day Ahmed, his friend Babujan and Nanda went to Indore by flight and purchased a country-made firearm and three rounds of bullets by paying Rs 30,000 to Raees Khan. The weapon was handed over to Vikram Goud at Balanagar.

On July 23, Nanda and Ahmed went to Kadiri, collected a bike from Govind Reddy, and erased the bike’s engine and chassis numbers.

On July 27, Vikram had a meeting with Nanda, Ahmed and Raees Khan at a guest house ‘Teja Nivas’, near Apollo, and explained them the plan of action. He also paid Rs 2 lakhs to each of them and promised to pay Rs 10 lakhs additionally after execution of the plan.

Vikram also took them round in his car to familiarise them about the escape route. On July 28, in the early hours, Vikram Goud dropped them at a spot that was a few metres away from his house.

On reaching his house, he asked the watchman to keep the gate unlocked. About 10 minutes later, they entered the house and Vikram gave the weapon to Raees Khan.

"Raees Khan fired one round on Vikram’s right hand. Vikram could not lift his left hand in time and hence the second bullet pierced his stomach.

The third one could not be fired as the weapon got stuck. They later fled on a bike and threw the weapon in the Hakeempet pond and parted in different ways.
