Eturunagaram received a rainfall of 10 cm while Mangapet recorded 6.6 cm rainfall as all the five districts of erstwhile Warangal have received good rainfall. As a result, streams and tanks in agency villages of Bhupalpally were overflowing.
Water bodies like Ramappa, Laknavaram, Pakhala, Ghanapavaram and Palem project received huge inflows.
The flow of vehicular traffic on NH 163 has come to a standstill as a rivulet overflowed near Pasra in Govindaraopet. Similarly, Dayyalavagu stream in Govindaraopet, Kanthanapally stream in Kannaigudem, Jeedivagu in Eturunagaram, Morancha stream in Ghanapuram in Bhupalpally district were overflowing and disrupted vehicular traffic.
A constable, M Nageswar Rao slipped into a Sarvapuram steam near Panchotukupalli village in Mulugu mandal and he was rescued by locals. In Warangal city, low lying areas like TV Tower Colony, NTR Nagar, Sundaraiah Nagar, MH Nagar, Sammaiah Nagar, Jawahar Nagar were inundated by rain waters.
Municipal Commissioner Shruti Ojha and Mayor N Narender have directed the engineering, health and other officials to be alert in view of the rains. They said quick response teams were set up to address any emergency situation.
