“The new online sand procurement procedure has come handy to many people in the district. It has freed them from the official hurdles and uneasy delay. In fact, our objective to curb corruption and illegal mining will also be achieved to a great extent through this online system. I had enquired about the new system with the villagers, sarpanches, tractor drivers and beneficiaries, everyone have expressed their satisfaction with the online system.

In just a weeks’ time we have earned more than Rs 8 lakh for the government to the sales of sand in the district using this new online policy,” District Collector Ronald Rose said.

In fact, Peddapally was the first district to implement the online sand policy in the entire Telagnana State. After seeing good results, the government had launched this policy in Mahbubnagar district as well.

As per the new policy, the tractor owner will be paid Rs 55 per kilometre, while the gram panchayat in which the sand quarry is located will be paid Rs 300. This amount will be later used for the development of the gram panchayat, Collector said.
