Hyderabad: The conductors of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) are refusing to accept Rs 10 coins causing hardships to the commuters. Conductors argue that a very few coins of Rs 10 were taken as it is difficult for them to circulate.

Pooja, a passenger travelling in RTC bus said that these coins have been released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the government did not ban them, but the bus conductors are not accepting these coins. She said that the conductors have been making their own rules to not accept Rs 10 coins.

When enquired about the same, a bus conductor said that even traders in the city are not accepting these Rs 10 coins and the depot managers are also not able to exchange these coins because of which they only accept four to five coins in a day.

Executive Director of TSRTC, A Purushottam said that the department has clearly instructed to the conductors to accept Rs 10 coins.
