Hyderabad: Taking into cognizance of the report published in The Hans India on Wednesday, the government swung into action to rescue Kalamma who is suffering from Heart problem and needs Heart Transplantation.

The Hans India on September 13 published a report with title ‘Ailing woman’s desperate cry for help.’ On Thursday, Narsimha Goud, the son of Kalamma got a telephone call from the office of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) director who had said that they would admit the patient on Friday.

The government assured Narasimha that it would take care of his mother and would bear the expenditure for Heart Transplantation. In view of helping the poor patients, who are in need of transplantation, the government has earmarked Rs 10 lakh for organ transplantation in hospitals like NIMs.

Meanwhile, the officials of Commissioner Civil Supplies Department assured the family of Kalamma that they would reactivate the white ration card. They also directed the Ranga Reddy District Collector and District Civil Supplies Officer (DSO) to clear the ration card. Narasimha thanked
