South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav held a review meeting with senior officials for providing traffic facilities, passenger amenity works, for enhancing of infrastructure in workshops, staff welfare measures etc., at SCR Head Quarters, Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Tuesday.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav held a review meeting with senior officials for providing traffic facilities, passenger amenity works, for enhancing of infrastructure in workshops, staff welfare measures etc., at SCR Head Quarters, Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Tuesday.

The meeting was attending by Principal Heads of Departments and the Divisional Railway Managers of all the six divisions attended through video conferencing.

The General Manager, during the meeting, instructed officials to put forth all proposals intended to be taken up duly framing all modalities and plans. He advised Divisional Railway Managers to finalize and send the proposals within stipulated time to works / facilities needs to be taken up on priority and need based. Since, the proposals finalized needs to be vetted and sent to Railway Board where ever approval is required. General Manager emphasized on taking up more passenger amenities related works and called upon officials to accord more priority to differently abled “Divyang” rail users needs. He stressed upon the need for Upgrading of facilities such as circulating area, providing coach indication boards, extension of platforms, provision of water troughs, seating facilities, LED lighting provision etc., at all other category stations.

Vinod Kumar Yadav laid importance on provision of staff welfare measures such as renovation of staff quarters, providing of facilities to staff at working place, up gradation of facilities at Running Rooms etc., He also instructed Engineering officials to safeguard railway lands from encroachments by construction of boundary walls.

Earlier, G. V. Ramana Reddy, Chief Engineer (Planning & Development) made a power point presentation on various identified passenger amenities & traffic facilities etc., proposals/works to be taken up for the next financial year 2018-19 under Preliminary Works Program.

Additional General Manager John Thomas, Principal Chief Engineer K.V. Siva Prasad and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
