Kadiyam Srihari: Telangana Govt spent Rs 10,130 cr for education in 2016-17

Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday addressed the questions raised in the Telangana Assembly and said that the state government has spent Rs 10,130 crore for education during the year 2016-17.

He said that the amount was spent for educating children in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), government/local body (Primary, Upper Primary and High Schools), Model Schools and Telangana residential Educational Institutional Society schools.

Expenditure on salaries of staff, Mid-day, meal programme, various components of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA and Rashtriya Mdhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), infrastructure development among others were covered.
