The second day of the World Telugu Conference started on a grand note here on Saturday with literary, music and dance sessions giving a feast to the lovers of the Telugu language, literature, and culture. Bringing a visible change on the occasion of the WTC, RTC routes have been named after Telugu alphabets.

Delegates in good numbers from Telangana and other states started gathering right from 8.30 am at Ravindra Bharathi and the main venue at LB Stadium to take part in the proceedings of the WTC.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari attended as chief guest to the literary session on “Development of Telugu in Telangana” held at the main venue in LB stadium. Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, former Vice-Chancellor, Dr Y Siva Reddy, presided over the session, participated by Prof Bethavolu Ramabrahmam, Dr Ravva Srihari, Dr Mudiganti Sujatha Reddy and others.
People in good numbers thronged to witness the evening session lined up with attractive cultural events like singing the keerthanas composed by Saint Ramadas of Badrachalam and this was followed by Kuchipudi dance and mime programmes.
Telugu PSTU auditorium hosted a session on the development of prose verse of Telugu in Telangana. While Dr Sunkireddy Narayana Reddy spoke on different themes being used in the poetic verse, Penna Siva Ramakrishna has spoke on the ‘Art of the poetic verse’. This was followed by lectures on the modern poetic verse.
At Ravindra Bharathi mini-auditorium, Dr M Anjaiah performed Astavadhanam. Calling it as the unique feature known only in Telugu language, Medical and Health Minister Laxma Reddy said apart from the people’s language, certain features and practices in a language reflect its richness.
And, Telugu language has several such unique features, making it as the great language. Appreciating the smooth progress of various programmes being held as part of the WTC, he appealed to the people to make it a grand success. Hasyavadhanam and Padayakavi Sammelan were followed in the afternoon and evening sessions held in the PSTU.
Bruhath Kavi Sammelan held in nine parts throughout the day starting at 11 am in the morning stood highlight on the second day of the programme held at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium. The programme with 700 poets was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers -- Kadiyam Srihari and Mahmood Ali -- in the morning session.
Similarly, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna who attended as the chief guests in the afternoon and evening session have said that the move to organise the WTC by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, after the formation of the state will help in spreading the greatness of the Telugu language and its development in the state and across the world.
Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium has hosted a session on the children literature participated by not only people from within the state but also from other parts of the country.
.Presided over by Dr P Ramulu and attended by Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav as the chief guest, the participants have given talks on children’s poems, stories, drama, novels and other literary forms in the children’s literature.
