Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has advised students to completely focus on education and stay away from social media.

Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of third death anniversary of former union minister G. Venkatswamy at Ambedkar Law College in Baghlingampally on Friday, Harish Rao said social media is proving to be a major distraction for students. He said many students were spoiling their careers by wasting time on social media. Therefore, he said students must focus only on their studies to achieve a better career.

Harish Rao paid rich tributes to Venkataswamy and recalled his role in separate Telangana movement. He said Kaleshwaram project was the dream of Venkataswamy and it would be completed in the next one year.

The function was also addressed by Telangana State Public Service Commission chairman Dr. G. Chakrapani, Telugu University Vice-Chancellor S.V. Satyanarayana, Advisor to TS Govt G. Vivek and other officials.
