Hyderabad: TRS MPs are expected to corner the NDA government in Parliament when it meets on March 5 after recess on various issues, including the support to agriculture sector and implementation of fulfilling of promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. During the TRS Parliamentary Party meeting scheduled on March 3, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is to explain the party MPs how they should go about in putting the demands of Telangana state in Parliament.
The ruling TRS MPs have been supportive of the various central government schemes and programmes. They have supported legislations brought forth by the Centre. However, with the recent outburst of Chief Minister KCR against Narendra Modi, the MPs too are in a combative mood. The MPs, who staged protest by standing in the House, now may increase the decibel levels in voicing their protest.
The Chief Minister had already indicated at a public meeting in Karimnagar recently that the TRS MPs would lodge their protest in Parliament. “The Chief Minister is unhappy with the efforts of the Centre on providing solution to the agrarian crisis because of farmers’ suicides even in the states ruled by the BJP. This will be the main point of discussion in tomorrow’s (Saturday) meeting,” said one MP.
According to a TRS leader, the party MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha would press for implementation of the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. The TRS has been demanding that Kaleshwaram project be declared as a project of national importance. The party chief was unhappy with the Centre for not releasing the funds to the state under various central schemes, he said.
The TRS leaders have been alleging that the Centre was not fulfilling the promises in bifurcating the High Court, sanctioning of All India institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other institutions, railway coach factory in Kazipet, increase in the number of Assembly seats and clearances for pending projects in the state. The CM is likely to direct the MPs to go full blast at the BJP in the wake of the protests by the saffron party leaders resenting KCR’s comments on the Prime Minister.
