Telangana CI suspended for abetting suicide of woman

A Circle-Inspector in Godavarikhani town of Peddapalli district in Telangana has been suspended on charges of abetting the suicide of a woman. Karimnagar Range DIG Pramod Kumar on Thursday served notices suspending CI Gajji Krishna.
According to the police, Tudi Swathi, a resident of Godavarikhani in Ramagundam, had approached the police after her daughter was sexually assaulted by a 12-year-old minor of the same locality.
After sometime, the boy was released released on bail. The minor and his father began abusing Swathi and her daughter.
Subsequently, Swathi lodged a complaint with the Godavarikhani One Town CI Gajji Krishna. However, it was reported that Krishna took the complaint lightly and ignored the case. Following the incident, Swathi allegedly committed suicide. Ramagundam Police Commissioner Vikramjeet Duggal had served notices attaching the sub-inspector to Commissionerate. Following an inquiry, it is learnt that the SI failed to report at the Commissionerate office even after he was served orders.
