Asifabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has asked the Tribals to fight against TRS Government to protect their rights.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Asifabad on Wednesday evening as part of Congress Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra, Uttam Kumar Reddy recalled that Komaram Bheem gave the slogan of Jal, Jungle aur Jameen (Water, Forests and Land) and did not bow down before the Nizam's army for the rights of Tribals. Similarly, he said Komaram Bheem's ideals stand valid even today and they must be emulated to get justice for the Tribals who are being suppressed by TRS Government. He alleged that the TRS Government has been forcibly taking away Tribal lands in the name of Haritha Haram or other pretext where they have been cultivating for several years. He said that it was the previous Congress regimes which gave Tribals complete rights on their lands. However, those rights are being taken away from Tribals by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao's Government.

Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed that there has been a wave against KCR family in Telangana State. Claiming that the Congress party would win over 80 seats in next elections, he promised that the next Congress Government would protect the rights of all Tribals. He reminded that the TRS Government has failed to fulfil promises of giving 12% reservation for STs, three acres of land to those holding White Ration Cards. But all those promises remained on paper.

The TPCC Chief said that the next Congress Government would create lakhs of job opportunities for the youth. Further, he said Rs. 3,000 monthly allowance would be paid to jobless youth.

Uttam Kumar Reddy asked the farmers to remain cautious with KCR Government. He said that the TRS Government did nothing for the farming community during the last four years. KCR's neglect drove more than 4,000 farmers to suicide. However, with just 7-8 months before the next elections it came up with Rythu Bandhu scheme. He said Rs. 4,000 per acre for a season was not a big financial assistance for the farmers as being claimed by the TRS Government. He said farmers also need remunerative prices and other support. He said that the next Congress Government would waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh besides ensuring remunerative prices on agriculture produce.

The meeting was also addressed by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, T. Jeevan Reddy, Sabitha Indira Reddy and other senior leaders. Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
