Hyderabad : Many top leaders of TRS from Warangal, including Parkal Municipal Chairman Murthyraju Bhadraiah, along with their hundreds of supporters joined the Congress party in the presence of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the joining of leaders of various political parties into the Congress was a clear indication that the party was returning to power both at the Centre and in Telangana. He said those leaders were joining the Congress as they were attracted to the party's ideology of social justice, secularism and inclusive growth.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that it was the Congress party which turned the 60-year-old dream of Telangana into a reality. However, he alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and TRS Government have shattered the dream of Telangana and disappointed crores of people who had lot of aspirations with the new State. He said hundreds of students and youth have sacrificed their lives for the statehood cause. But the Chief Minister do not have even a minute's time to think on the welfare of martyrs' families.

The TPCC President alleged that the State is now being ruled by the 'betrayers' of Telangana. TRS Government is implementing policies that are detrimental to the interest of Dalits, Girijans, unemployed, women, students, minorities and farmers. He alleged that KCR has been causing irreparable damage to Telangana by awarding works worth thousands of crores to Andhra contractors.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government did not fulfill even a single major electoral promise. However, the Chief Minister has been making claims as if he fulfilled 99% of promises. He said irregularities, debts and suicides were on the rise in Telangana.

Welcoming Parkal Chairman into Congress fold, he said Bhadraiah has decided to join the party as he was vexed with the wrong policies of TRS Government. He said people of Telangana were extremely angry and dissatisfied with the performance of KCR Govt and has been anxiously waiting for the next elections to teach it a fitting lesson.

Parkal Incharge E. Venkatram Reddy, Warangal DCC chief Nayani Rajender Reddy, Sarang Phani, M. Raji Reddy and other senior leaders were also present on the occasion.
