Bhongir: All set for debate and vote on no-trust motion moved against Bhongir Municipal Chairman S Lavanya on Tuesday. As many as 24 councilors ion the council gave notice for no-confidence motion.
Lavanya, who won on the BJP ticket, was elected as Chairperson with the support of TDP councilors. She shifted her loyalty to the TRS during MLC local body elections and returned to BJP during recent BJP Jana chaithanya Yatra.
Expressing their anger over the Chairperson returning to the BJP, the ruling TRS councilors along with other opposition parties, besides two BJP councilors, gave notice for no-confidence motion.
Meanwhile, Lavanya met District Collector Anitha Ramachndran and requested her not to count the votes of MLA P Shekar Reddy and MLC Krishna Reddy as they are ex officio members.
