Hyderabad: The Congress leaders are on tenterhooks ahead of their president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Telangana. They are not very sure if the police would accord permission for Rahul Gandhi’s programmes on August 13 and 14 in Hyderabad and Rangareddy.

Party leaders who have been entrusted with the responsibility of securing permissions from the police for the 16 programmes of Rahul are going around the police officials for permissions. So far, the Congress has been given permissions for four programmes, launch of Bus Yatra at Shamshabad airport, addressing women groups at Rajendranagar, visit to Peddamma temple and a programme at Haritha Plaza.

According to party sources, the police have denied permission for the Bus Yatra programme at Nampally. The Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University did not give permission for interaction with the students at the university campus.
