Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that his party was planning to use online method to select party candidates for next elections. Holding a tele-conference with all mandal party presidents from Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Uttam said that the party was scouting for strong and capable candidates who could ensure the victory of Congress. Uttam asked the party leaders to intensify enrolment for Shakti programme.
The party is planning to use online mode to select candidates for next assembly elections. The Congress members, who have registered themselves with Shakti programme, are eligible to give their opinion on the selection of candidates. Directing the leaders to get ready for early polls, Uttam instructed them to check their names in the electoral rolls as the authorities have reportedly deleted names of thousands of Congress workers from the list.
In a scathing attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, the Congress leader alleged that the Chief Minister was giving preference to personal publicity over governance and had been ruining the democracy using the ‘looted’ wealth. He also accused KTR of speaking out of arrogance of power. Uttam reiterated that the Congress would waive off crop loans upto Rs 2 lakh in a single instalment once voted to power.
