Most Backward Classes demand list of castes, categorisation

Khammam: District president of Most Backward Classes (MBC) Sangham, Pakala Upendar here on Wednesday demanded that the government rectify the GO No.16 and announce the complete list of various castes that are included in MBC category. A meeting was held with the important members of MBC Sangham at Manchikanti Bhavan here.
Speaking at the meeting, Upendar said the people belonging to MBC category felt happy with the declaration of a separate corporation for MBC and allocation of Rs.1,000 crore in the budget and with the appointment of a chairmen for MBC Corporation.
But, the government had not released the list of various castes that are included in MBC category. The people belonging to Sanchara and Ardha Sanchara castes are still facing lot of hardships.
They are suffering from poverty and social discrimination. Reservation must be allotted to the people belonging to MBC by categorising them into A, B, C, D and E sub-castes along with allotting double bedroom houses to them, he demanded.
He also demanded that the government construct community buildings with MLA and MP funds in every district along with sanctioning of Rs 2 lakh loan from corporation to the people belonging to MBC.
District Secretary of MBC Sangham Donepelli Venkanna, T L Narsaiah, leaders Bandaru Ramesh, Mogillicharla Bhadraiah, Verababu, Y Vinay Kumar, Satyanaryana and others were present at the meeting.
