Hyderabad: TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao has kept his promise of giving tickets to all sitting MLAs except for two and deferring a decision in respect of 14 other seats.

The two seats for which the candidates were changed were Chennur and Andole. While the sitting MLA of Chennur N Odelu was denied ticket, it was given to Peddapally MP B Suman. Senior leader Babu Mohan was also denied ticket from Andole which went to journalist union leader Chanti Kranti Kiran.

KCR did not announce candidates for five seats held by his party MLAs in dissolved Assembly that included former Minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh Konda Surekha. He said that more deliberations were going on with local leaders for these five seats namely Warangal East (represented by Konda Surekha), Choppadandi (Bodige Shobha), Medchal (M Sudhir Reddy) Malkajgiri (Ch Kanaka Reddy) and Vikarabad (B Sanjeeva Rao).

Konda Surekha has been facing opposition from the local party leaders. The party leaders from Karimnagar had recommended against giving ticket to Bodige Shobha alleging that her deeds were causing loss to the party. For Medchal constituency, it is said that Congress leader K Laxma Reddy would get this ticket and in Vikarabad the sitting MLA Sanjeeva Rao is said to be not keeping well. KCR has not announced candidates for four of the five seats presently represented by the BJP.

TRS chief, who has been saying that the BJP candidates cannot retain their five seats in the city, did not announce candidates for Khairatabad (Ch Ramachandra Reddy), Musheerabad (K Laxman), Amberpet (Kishan Reddy) and Goshamahal (Raja Singh). He has announced the name of B Subhash Reddy for Uppal, held by BJP's NVSS Prabhakar.

Rao, who referred to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as his friendly party, has announced candidates for the seats they represent. They are: Karwan (T Jeevan Singh), Nampally (M Anand Goud), Yakutpura (S Sundar Reddy), Bahadurpura (Inayath Ali Baqri), Chandrayangutta (M Seetharam Reddy). He did not announce the candidates for two -- Charminar and Malakpet which were also held by MIM.

The TRS candidates for Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, represented by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Kodada segment, represented by TPCC Chief Uttam’s wife Padmavathi are also kept pending. The turncoats are lucky in the distribution of tickets as most of them got tickets. The TDP, Congress, YSRC and CPI MLAs, who switched loyalties to the ruling TRS, have been rewarded for crossing over to the TRS.

Name of former minister Danam Nagender, who recently switched loyalty to TRS, did not figure in the first list announced by TRS. Party sources said he was asking for Khairatabad Assembly or Secunderabad Lok Sabha. Party leaders said that KCR has overlooked the anti-incumbency against some MLAs, assuring them that he would ensure their victory by campaigning for them.
