Nagarkurnool: A rabid dog attacked 12 persons in Bolgatepally and Nadimpally villages under Achampet mandal in Nagarkurool district on Monday. According to eye-witnesses, a rabid dog, which was roaming freely in Bolgatepally and Nadimpally villages, all of a sudden started attacking the people whoever came in its path.

Due to the sudden attack from the dog, 12 persons were injured severely. Most of the attacked victims are women and children. “The dog had attacked from behind while I was going to the market. With the sudden attack I did not know what to do and fell on the road. However, some pedestrians came and rescued me,” said Manemma, a victim from Bolgatepally.

All the victims attacked by the dog have been immediately shifted to Achampet government hospital for getting rabbis vaccination. “Anyone bitten by dog must take immediate precautions. They should wash the wound and immediately take vaccination from the nearby government hospital,” said the healthcare staff of Achampet hospital. The hospital authorities administered vaccination to all the victims and done first aid to their wounds.
