Khammam: Khammam police remembered the police officials who were killed while discharging duty at an event held as part of the Commemoration Week in the district on Monday.

Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal inaugurated the ‘Open House’ which was arranged on the occasion at the Police Parade grounds in Khammam.

Addressing the gathering, Tafseer Iqbal said, “it is everyone’s responsibility to remember the police personnel who sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation.”

Tafseer Iqbal informed that receiving the orders from State Director General of Police, all the necessary arrangements were made to organise various types of programmes in the part of Commemoration Week from October 15 to 21 remembering the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in line of duty in Khammam town, Khammam rural, Wyra and Kallur division under Police Commissionerate limits.

The police professionals explained the students about the duties that are discharged by police personnel, usage of various types of weapons, duties of Dog Squad and Bomb disposal departments.

As part of the Commemoration Week and to improve friendly policing among the students, programmes like Open House, painting, essay writing and elocution competitions will be conducted in addition to blood donation camps and Police martyrs rallies, informed the CP.

Grand tribute will be paid to the police martyrs on October 21 at Police Parade Grounds in the morning at 8 am. The public representatives and media persons are requested to attend the programme and make it grand success, appealed the top cop.

Additional DCP Muralidhar, Additiona DCP (Armed forces) Shyam Sundar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Babu, Sathyanarayana, Circle Inspector Sampath Kumar, Reserve Inspectors Srinivas, Nageswar Rao, Ravi, Madan Mohan, Thirupathi Reddy, Reserve Inspector Police Nageswar Rao and the Principal of Krishna Prasad Memorial High School Sheshagiri Rao were present and students attended the programme.
