Youth sensitised on their role in social change

Bala Vikasa has been supporting the semi orphan and orphan children with over Rs 2 crore every year through different activities. The convention was held to empower the youth with courage, self-confidence, discipline and attitude.
Speaking at the convention, Bala Vikasa founder Bala Theresa Gingras said that India enjoys the demographic advantage of having the youngest workforce with an average age of 29 years in comparison with the advanced countries.
“Youth has an important role to play in the social development, especially in fighting the social evils such as women inequality and widow discrimination,” she said, appealing to youth to set individual goals, and strive hard to achieve them. She further called on the corporate companies to inculcate social responsibility among them and contribute for societal development from the profits earned by them.
Bala Vikasa Executive Director S Shoury Reddy said that youth should become CM (Change Maker) to eradicate social evils. He urged the youth to utilise their social media skills towards noble cause to the society rather than wasting their talent on other issues.
He warned the youth that the employment opportunities are declining year after year and it is the time for youth to have technical skills to prove themselves as entrepreneurs. He said that Bala Vikasa International Center established in Hyderabad in 20-acre campus is incubating the entrepreneurs with an intention to mentor youth with entrepreneurial skills in establishing social enterprises.
Bala Vikasa President Indra Reddy urged the youth to make use of their NGO to reach high position in their career. This convention was also attended by Bala Vikasa vice-president B Marreddy, Jana Vikasa president S Lourdu Marreddy, Bala Vikasa directors Prakash Reddy and DL Reddy, programme managers Sunitha and Latha, Programme Officers Pratap and Manjula and others.
Study material worth around Rs 35 lakh was given as incentive to 3,500 youth for securing over 60 per cent marks in their exams.
