Hyderabad: The US Consulate General Hyderabad hosted a jazz performance by House of Waters, a US-based music group, at Taj Krishna on Wednesday. The band is on a 4-city concert series, as part of ‘The Jazz India Circuit Tour’. The other cities covered in the tour are Bangalore, Goa and Delhi. It teamed up with Praveen Sparsh, a mridangam artist from Chennai. The music enthralled around 300 guests, which included 80 local Access English program students who attended the event. The band also conducted a workshop for 50 students at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society Fine Arts School in Rampally to enable the exchange of ideas and discover skillsets.

The ‘US Mission’ in India also joined the world in paying homage to the former US President George HW Bush at this event. The music of House of Waters is both complex and easy to enjoy. It was a musical exploration that invited listeners to open themselves up to entirely new notes. With musical and cultural influences stretching India and Senegal through Ireland and to the heart of New York City, their concerts are beautiful and electrifying moments of mastery and magic.

Lauded as ‘Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer’ by National Public Radio (NPR), Max ZT is an innovator of the instrument. His fresh perspective and bold experimentalism have been the backbone to beautiful, complex, and genuine compositions, while his unorthodox playing style has been a pioneering force in revolutionizing dulcimer techniques. House of Waters has scored an Emmy winning documentary for ESPN and has shared the stage with some of the most influential musical leaders of the century, including Pundit Ravi Shankar, Victor Wooten, Tinariwen, Jimmy Cliff, Snarky Puppy, Karsh Kale, and more.
