Hyderabad: About 200 students and 25 teachers from 71 Telangana Minority Residential Schools (established during the year 2016-17) took part in the ‘Brighter Minds Alpha Programme.’

The participants gave excellent presentation of their skills in sensory perceptions and cognitive functioning of the brain during the valedictory function organised at Kanha Shanti Vanam on the city outskirts on Monday.

The ‘Brighter Minds Winter Camp,’ which started from November 22 and concluded on January 1, provided successful training to students and teachers. On the day of conclusion, they also gave presentation using Static Models on ‘Healthy Environment Gives Healthy Thoughts’.

Following their excellent performances during the camp, the officials declared that the programme would be extended to remaining TMR Schools for the benefit of students and teachers.

B Shafiullah, the Secretary of TMREIS (Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society), informed that this was a unique programme, which not only enhances the sensory perceptions and cognitive functions of the brain, but it offers a unique whole brain wellness programme.

“Designed to help children reach their true potential, it is an educational initiative to equip every child with tools and methods to enhance cognitive functioning for achieving personal excellence and instill confidence in oneself,” he noted.

The typical schooling education concentrates only on improving the analytical and logical functionalities, while giving little or no attention to building intuition and enhancing creativity.

In order to bring about a balance, these latent capabilities can be energized and stimulated by exercising the whole brain at a young age.

This will help children introspect and be in harmony with themselves as well as others, he added.

For ensuring physical fitness of students and encouraging sports activities earlier the TMREIS held State level sports and games meet, ‘Josh 2018’ at GMC Balayogi stadium, Gachibowli from November 26 to 29.

During the four days of ‘State Level Sports and Games Meet’, students took part in all the events and awarded with prizes.

Earlier ‘District Level Sports and Games Meets’ were organized for the students of all the (204) TMR Schools at district Head Quarters of erstwhile districts from October 9 to 11 by organizing competitions in
Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Kho - Kho, Hand Ball, Badminton, Foot Ball, Chess, Tennikoit, Wrestling and Athletics.
