Vikarabad: With Panchayat elections fast approaching, the number of young aspirants has increased. In most villages, youths are seen vying for the elections. The thandas that were affiliated to other villages have not witnessed any development, and so, the youth who are eager to develop their localities are keen to contest in the elections. They are trying to make the election unanimous in many places. Almost all the newly-formed Panchayats have populations below 500. That is one of the reasons why the youth are engaged in efforts and large-scale discussions.

If they succeeded, they would get Rs 10 lakh from the government, and the poll expenses would be compensated. Keeping the heavy expenses in view, some people are trying to woo their opponents with new techniques. They are ready to spend money to attract opponents. As the new reservation continues to exist at least for the next 10 years, the aspirants are very keen to grab the positions this time around.
