Vikarabad: Usually elections come once in five years. But this time, a series of elections are in line, the latest being the notification for GP elections. Villages have been in the grip of election fever, right from Assembly elections.

Now, panchayat, cooperative, Lok Sabha and municipal elections are to be conducted one after another. According to reports, youth are keen to contest the elections and leaders are facing tough time in pacifying rebels.

Central and State Election Commissions are making elaborate arrangements to conduct the elections in a peaceful manner. Panchayat elections scheduled to be held in three phases and will be completed by the end of this month.

The elections will be conducted for 4,850 wards of 565 villages in 18 mandals. It is said that special officers are being appointed after the expiry of term of Sarpanches. Candidates have intensified discussions with the leaders to get support from all the communities.
