Bhongir: A delegation of 19 members from 13 countries visited Bhongir Municipality on Thursday. As part of 10 days training programme, they visited Bhongir to study various methods being implemented in the municipality.
During their visit, they enquired officials concerned about separation of wet and dry litter and the way to make vermicompost through collected litter. Municipal Chairman Nuvulla Prasanna and Commissioner G Venugopal Reddy received the delegates and explained about the pulverisation , production of vermicompost and litter recycling practically at a dumping yard.
Speaking to the media, the delegates informed that they were very impressed by the collection of wet and dry litter separately at the doorstep of residents of town by the municipality staff, and stated that they would implement the same method in their countries too to make litter-free towns. EPTRI Director General B Kalyana Chakravarthi and councillors accompanied the delegation.
