Bhatti selected as CLP leader

Hyderabad: All-India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi on Friday has appointed Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka as leader of Congress Legislature Party.
The Congress Legislature Party, which met on Thursday, authorised the AICC president on selection of leader. AICC observer KC Venugopal has gathered the opinions of the legislators at the meet and left for Delhi on the same day. He has conveyed the opinions of the MLAs to Rahul Gandhi and the AICC president has announced the decision on Friday.
Bhatti Vikramarka, who worked as working president of PCC, got elected from the Madhira constituency. He was also chairman of the PCC campaign committee during the Assembly elections.
According to party leaders, Vikramarka has been selected by Rahul as leader of CLP keeping his caste background in view. Vikramarka hailing from SC community would be a better option and his appointment as leader of CLP would firm up the support of SCs in the state which would have Parliament general elections in April or May.
