Speakers call to lawmakers

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated on a grand note at both Houses of Telangana Legislature on Saturday.Newly-elected Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy did the honours in Assembly, while Council Chairman hoisted the National flag in Legislative Council premises.

Earlier floral tributes were paid to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Assembly premises by Speaker and Council Chairman and other dignitaries. Addressing the media, Pocharam called upon legislators to utilise House sessions for highlighting issues and problems of public instead of resorting to political debates to settle scores with opponents.
