Police arrest two burglars, seize booty worth 1.7 lakhs

Mancherial: The police on Tuesday arrested two burglars and recovered gold and silver chains worth Rs 1.70 lakhs and two mobile phones from them.
Addressing a press meet here, Mancherial Assistant Commissioner of Police Ghouse Baba revealed that the police arrested two persons – auto driver Takre Prashanth (19) and Sabbani Naveen (19), a worker at a flowers shop, who were found suspicious during a regular vehicle check in Mancherial.
They recovered three tolas gold chain worth Rs 1 lakh, silver bracelet worth Rs 10,000 and two mobile phones from the accused. Ghouse Baba said that the burglars had confessed that they robbed the jewellery and mobiles from J Ashok of Dandayapalli mandal, at knifepoint, who travelled by an auto from Mancherial to CCC Naspur on January 25, 2019.
Mancherial Rural Inspector Y Krishna Kumar recovered the jewellery and sent the accused for remand. Task Force Inspector Sagar, Sub-Inspector Pramod, Sammaiah, Constable Sampath and others were present.
