Musheerabad: A large number of candidates, who appeared for the Sub-Inspector and constable examinations held recently held a protest rally at Barkathpura in the city on Thursday, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process. BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah extended his support to them.
Later, addressing a gathering, Krishnaiah demanded that the state government rectify the irregularities in the recruitment process and do justice to the candidates. In the press note released by TSPLRB on March 2, male candidates who clocked 170.4999 seconds in the 800 meters race were given yet another opportunity but female candidates who clocked from 20.0001 to 20.0049 in 100 m race were given opportunity and as per performance sheet, not even a single candidate was able to finish their race in the time limits, Krishnaiah said. This clearly demonstrates the gender inequality shown by the police officials, he said.
Moreover, many women candidates lost very narrowly due to the use of RFIC technology, he said. He said that as the race was conducted with 40 to 50 candidates, some candidates lost out by three to five seconds due to the stampede at the beginning of the race. Candidates should not be punished for the mistakes of the officials and these irregularities should be rectified, he added.
