Eluru: The Samaikyandhra movement which entered 30th day on Thursday has penetrated down to the villages in the district. Professional groups, social groups and individuals are participating in the agitation voluntarily. Villagers belonging to Kopparru village of Narsapuram mandal have taken up a 9-km rally. Later, they held ‘Vanta Vaarpu’ on the road under the leadership of their village sarpanch. The sarpanch, speaking on the occasion, ridiculed the allegation that the agitation in Seemandhra was promoted by capitalists.

Nidadavole: Total bandh was observed in the town following 48-hour bandh call by the local JAC. Business establishments, banks, petrol bunks and hotels closed their shutters in response to the bandh call. Members of the local tailors association participated in the relay hunger strike being held under the aegis of Nidadavole town JAC on the 30th day of the agitation. Tailors held a rally with 500 feet national flag, which attracted the attention of the people.
