Sky is the limit for prices in Vizianagaram

In view of the ongoing curfew, the prices of daily commodities reached their peak. On Wednesday, the curfew had been frozen for two hrs from 7a.m to 9a.m. The people rushed to the markets to get the goods. The local businessmen took benefit out of the situation and raised the prices of all the goods. According to the local people, the vegetables and milk are sufficiently not available in the market. They demanded for the immediate lifting of curfew. They requested the authorities to freeze up the curfew at least up to 4 p.m. Though the situation is under control, the police are giving relaxation only for two hours from the curfew.

From the other side, the local police behaved harshly with the R & B officials at Raitubazar in Vijayanagaram. They assaulted the farmers during the frozen hours of curfew. The collector of Vijayanagaram spoke to the media and condemned the incident. He opined that the incident is the result of the lack of awareness. He assured that similar incidents would not take place. He warned the businessmen for a severe action, if the commodities are sold at an extra price. He requested the businessmen to show humanity. The officials of Raitubazar absented for their duties demanding the justice.
