Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) AP Choudhary launched 'SWASTH-Mines', the computerised online medical and healthcare management system, for the benefit of employees working in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) Mines at Madharam and Jaggayyapeta at a function organised by the Information Technology Department of VSP through video-conference here on Wednesday.
The CMD, Director (Operations) Umesh Chandra and Director (Personnel) YR Reddy interacted with the doctors stationed at the mines through video-conference and enquired about the benefits that would accrue from this system, and other general issues at hand. CMD, the Directors and Executive Directors were impressed with the system and commended the IT team for designing an innovative system.
Executive Director (Mines) MMK Murthy, Executive Director (IT & Automation) P Ramudu and other senior officials were present.A 'SWASTH-Mines' was developed using state-of-the-art technologies of Oracle over Internet. The servers in the demilitarised zone in VSP's IT Department would be accessed by the medical officers stationed at hospitals in Madharam and Jaggayyapeta using Internet.
Earlier, Mr Choudhary also launched the 'Mobile Version' of corporate website of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (www.vizagsteel.com). The website gives easy access to features from any mobile phone. This would benefit employees, vendors, customers, career seekers and other stakeholders to access the website from their mobile devices conveniently.
